COMMUNITY CORNER . . .
“At times our own light goes out and is rekindled by a spark from another person. Each of us has cause to think with
deep gratitude of those who have lighted the flame within us.” –Albert Schweitzer
HBCAC does good works. Our survivor support services and educational outreaches have helped
thousands of women and their families throughout the past 17 years. When lights have gone out for
those in the frightening face of diagnosis, HBCAC has been there to rekindle those flames with hope
and support for the future. But we haven’t done it alone. When the fiscal health and welfare of the organization
looks bleak, our light is rekindled by the spark of others. As we end this year and look toward
a new one – it is our time to think with deep gratitude of those who have helped to keep the HBCAC
embers burning.
The Huntington community and beyond shone brightly in 2006; our government, our merchants, our
residents and our neighbors came out to support HBCAC and to help us achieve the most desired goal of all
– to deliver a strong message of good health and wellness.
Our friends and supporters bring important contributions to us – funding, donations and volunteer
time. They are the sparks that keep our flame lit. Their work is invaluable and our gratitude is immeasurable.
Like a well oiled machine, all the parts work together to create forward movement. We forge ahead,
warmed by the flame of genuine interest in our work for the community which we so proudly serve.
Whether you approved a budget, supported legislation, opened your business or home to us, made
a donation, attended an event, purchased a bracelet or volunteered your time, you are part of our ring of fire and we offer a very
special thank you. Your kindness and generosity have helped to sustain a flame which will burn strong - a guiding light which will
continue to lead HBCAC into a bright future.
