HBCAC hosts their Second Annual Bag Ladies Luncheon
                            
Huntington, New York – March 2007 – The Huntington Breast Cancer Action Coalition will host their second annual Bag Ladies Luncheon at the Fox Hollow Inn in Woodbury on Friday, April 27th 2007 at 12:00 noon.  Join us at this original and sophisticated fundraising event and enjoy the unique opportunity to bid on a fabulous collection of new and “gently used” handbags in our silent auction.  Beautiful handbags, donated by supporters and retail sponsors, will be on display and waiting to be taken home by the lucky highest bidder.  Come be thrilled at the many bargains and “tucked away” surprises available to you!  Your $50 pp donation includes a “coffee clutch” preview session, auction opportunities, an elegant luncheon with dessert and enter you to win a special grand prize designer handbag.  Early reservations and our “Bring a Friend” promotion offer discounted ticket prices to this one of kind afternoon!

“The idea for this event, fashioned after a similar luncheon, held by the Ruth Newman Shapiro Cancer and Heart Fund in New Jersey, was brought to me by one of our very active volunteers, Sharon Bloomfield”, says Barbara Axmacher, Community Affairs Director for HBCAC.  “It’s was a fabulous idea and we got right to work with the event last year”, explained Axmacher.  “We had so much fun just collecting handbags from local merchants and supporters including; Dalia’s, Fern’s Creative Thimble, H2oh’, Ma Belle, Scentsational, Sedoni Gallery, Vine & Roses and others.”  Our wonderful friends at the Huntington Public Library collected over 3 boxes full of bags which were donated to the event.  It was marvelous.”

This year retail sponsors TJ Maxx and Annie sez have joined in the fun and many handbags available for auction will come with a secret surprise gift tucked away inside, perhaps a gift certificate for a manicure, a fancy pair of ladies undergarments or a salon makeover.  Also available will be a gorgeous selection of Circle of Hope™ bracelets and our Toast to Life III raffle tickets, which this year offers an exclusive grand prize.
